Online Social Networks

The earliest social networking services available on the Internet were Usenet groups and bulletin boards established to communicate each other about specific topics. As these early Internet users were computer programmers and enthusiasts, they basically focused on technology and computer science. A common feature of these sites was the chat room in which a dedicated web space that let people type messages to each other and receive response in real time.

The social networking site is distinguished from the earlier, simpler community messaging sites by the ways it makes a user's network visible to others. It means we can connect each other regardless where we are located and whenever time it is, as long as we use the same social networking site. Some other earliest service to function were Classmates and Six Degree of Separation.

Many of them are still active for instance Six Degree of Separation, in which allowed people to list their friends for others to view. In year 2003, the list of services had grown to include such a popular services like Friendster and Myspace. Then, the definition of social networking has widened since 1990s. For example Youtube, which is a video streaming website that allows users to form groups dedicated to certain topics or themes. Another extremely popular form of networking  involve massively multiplayer online games (MMOGs), such as War Craft. Therefore, I think it is good to use online social networking but remember there lots of pros and cons. In order to avoid any problems, parents must play a crucial role in monitoring their children from the start.

ERP

Today, I'm gonna share with you about Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) which is actually one of the components under Enterprise Information System. When we talk about EIS, obviously it explains on how an organization uses IT or system to ensure the production may run smoothly. Believe it or not, I am pretty sure with this era systems play crucial role in company as well as country. Can you imagine we live without a system?? Everything is gonna be delay and may stuck the company's production. Thus, EIS becomes important tool to help company achieves its goal.

Next, lets move on to ERP which is a centralized all departments by using one standardized system. Initially, it is a computer system support to business. By having this kind of system, it precise rules for every case and easiest way to automate in term of payroll and accounting. Before ERP is introduced, basically we use MRP whereby it is an inventory reordering tool. It also evolved to support planning by using MRP II. Since then, ERP has globally used in our country as well outside. One of the ERP system can be called as SAP system.
The diagram above shows how ERP system can integrate the information to all departments in the organization with stand alone system. Yes, it quite costly especially for small enterprises. But, it worth it for large organization since it has many departments which link and connect each other. Therefore with ERP system, it will ease organization's data to be transferred to other divisions effectively.

Japanese Robotic

The evolution of technology and information system had bring us to new creature, which is called robot. It is awesome!! Long times ago, robots were only displayed on movie and people might think that will not happen in reality. But, Japan did it very well after developing humanoid robots in 1980, including several prototypes that preceded ASIMO. Asada, the team of engineers and brain specialists together with psychologists had succeeded in creating the robot, particularly the humanoid one. Not only that. Besides humanoid robots, there are some other type of robots such as animal robot (Aibo), social robot, guard robot, domestic robot and mobility robot.

The humanoid Japanese robots have special characteristics include abilities like blinking, smiling or expressing emotion to anger and surprise. I am kinda impressed when knowing about the robots' emotions and expression. Amazing right?? I never thought that robots could have that kind of expressions because they are not human. Perhaps, the robots would not have any feeling towards human. LOL..

Together with this post, I would like to share what robot can do by controlling Asimo's motion. You may surf this link. Ok? http://world.honda.com/ASIMO/control/#HWW
